Around exactly a year ago I was approached by Sam who asked me if I wanted to photograph a wedding with him. We both talked about how it was really far in advance but of course I accepted and was excited but nervous to photograph my first big wedding.
A year went by fast and I had realized in about a month that it was time for the Brenda and David's wedding at the Point Defiance Zoo. I couldn't believe a year had already passed it and was time to start preparing. Sam picked me up at the ferry and we realized, without coordinating, that we were matching! Which in my opinion, was a good way to start off the 12 hour day we had ahead of us.
Sam dropped me off at the Maxwell hotel so I could photograph the bride and the bridesmaids getting ready. I was feeling nervous as I was walking to their hotel rooms because I hadn't met the bride or any of the wedding party yet. That nervous feeling left me right away when Brenda greeted me and I could already tell that this was going to be a wonderful wedding to be apart of.
Below are some of my favorite shots from the wedding, which was truly magical. The ceremony was beautiful but when it ended on Deee-Lite's 'Groove is in the Heart' playing as the wedding party danced down the aisle, I knew it was going to be an outrageously fun reception. Which it was, because there were many many times when I wanted to drop my camera on the floor and just go to the dance floor. Congratulations Brenda and David!
Of course, a big thanks to Sam Veatch, my partner in crime for the night!
